Forward March!
For those who march to the beat of a different drum and the families that love them, lining up in an orderly formation usually doesn’t work so well.
We can see this in our neurodiverse children as young as toddlers who are perhaps out of sync with the playgroup or classroom setting. If everyone fit neatly in a box how boring would that be? Yet for those who color outside the lines, standardized living can be a challenge. And it never stops being so.

Love is…
February is the month of love with Valentine’s Day being the most notable day of the month.
If you’ve ever been to a wedding you have likely heard this familiar passage: Love is patient, Love is kind. A good exercise to ground (or humble) yourself is to put your first name into the place of “Love” and read the entire passage like that.
As a special needs parent, I sometimes get derailed, impatient, or just plain exhausted. This happens to me in times when I’m more aware of transitions, endings, and new beginnings.
My mantra comes at the conclusion of this famous passage: Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things.
Can we do that too? Chose to bear, believe, and hope for a bright future and set your heart on co-creating this with your loved ones because love never ends!
